He has worked with and continue to work with many prominent DJ's & promoters in the nightlife industry. Promoters took notice and started booking Pandu to rock DC’s Nightclubs on a weekly basis. The Party Planner asked Pandula to spin at an upcoming party and hence DJ Pandu was born!!ĭJ Pandu made the most of his opportunity, and before long he was spinning at local bars, lounges and clubs. ![]() A local party planner attended the party and was very impressed by his skills. He saved enough money to buy some turntables and got his first gig spinning at a friends house party. He was always interested in different melodies, beats, and rhythms, and decided to take his passion for music to the next level in high school. The band's new single Bend, released the day Christmess came out (coincidence?), easily could have soundtracked the film.Follow Pandu fell in love with music at a very young age. Now, it seems obvious that the voice behind Middle Kids' emotional anthems would be perfect for this gig. The deep, resounding wail in her voice turns these simple songs into odes for everyone who has ever fucked up. She also sings a song called Deadbeat Dad ("People say I have your smile but I wouldn't know"), a tune about Boxing Day, and the best cover of O Holy Night on the electric guitar I've ever heard. It's funny and also punches you in the guts, sending Chris into a panic attack, which annoys Joy because he's too busy freaking out to tell her whether he liked the song. "So come on home/I can't believe that you're gone/Come on Home/It's the end of the year and I'm alone…" Playing the guitar upside down (Hannah is a leftie IRL, and prefers playing that way) she closes her eyes and sings a snippet of one of the original songs she wrote for the film - her own version of a Christmas song called Empty Chair: Or his panic and despair as he stands in front of a line of liquor bottles, wearing his scrappy Santa suit, contemplating breaking his sobriety. Same for Chris' catatonic frustration, as he sits in the shopping centre surrounded by hordes of screaming children. You can feel the baking heat as Chris lugs an empty BBQ gas bottle to the servo to be filled on a 40-degree day. ![]()
